Spring means the Jr./Sr. Formal (and a trip to Goodwill)

As Friday, April 12 rolled around, I couldn’t help but get excited for this year’s Junior/Senior

Formal. Going with a friend of mine, we stopped by Goodwill to put some finishing touches on

our outfits before heading to the Formal.

The venue was located on the Congaree River, across the bridge from downtown

Columbia. Upon walking in, we immediately noticed the entrance hall, which was decked out in

balloons and streamers, as well as a red carpet leading to the main room. A long table with

delicious cakes and cookies caught my eye, and a balcony overlooking the river seemed like a

great spot to enjoy said treats. While waiting for everyone to show up, we enjoyed personal

photoshoots from ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Staff Photographer Noah Allard.

After catching up with some friends over desserts and lemonade, I heard the sound of music

and knew it was our queue to start dancing. We then spent the rest of the evening jamming out

to a variety of songs, as couples and friends alike enjoyed a break from the stress of looming

exams and papers. Talking to some of the seniors, it was apparent that many of them wanted to

soak in one of their last college memories. Personally, I know this will be a memory I won’t soon

forget.
