Science from a biblical worldview available at CIU

Two new bachelor’s degrees in science are opening up a world of ministry and career possibilities at Ƶ. As with all other CIU majors, the newBiology and Biomedical Sciences programs are taught from a biblical worldview.
The Bachelor of Science in Biology provides students with the knowledge, skills and service opportunities needed for successful careers such as:
- Agricultural and Food Science Technician
- Laboratory Assistant
- Forester
- Conservation officer
- Zoo/Wildlife Biologist
- High School Biology Teacher
Meanwhile, the Biomedical Science program readies students with the knowledge, skills and service opportunities to forge a successful career in health sciences. Laboratory experiences will develop critical thinking and hands-on skills providing the groundwork for graduate studies leading to careers such as:
- Physician
- Physician Assistant
- Physical Therapist
- Dentist
- Pharmacist
- Veterinarian
- Optometrist
- Occupational Therapist
The dean of science programs is neuroscientist Dr. David DeWitt who has over 25 years of experience including nine years as a department chair of Biology and Chemistry.
DeWitt gives glory to God as Creator and is passionate about discussing origins.
“I am so excited to be able to talk about the evidence for (God’s) design in the human body, and the wisdom of God that is revealed in what He has made, right down to the cellular and molecular level,” DeWitt said.
DeWitt has taught at the and written articles for .He is the author of the book, “Unraveling the Origins Controversy:Science and the Bible Confirm Creation.”
