Men's golf wins second consecutive NCCAA South Region title while setting a program record

The Rams’ Andrew Haarlow took home the title of individual champion, shooting a career-best 68 in round two for a 36-hole mark of 140.

seized their second consecutive (NCCAA) South Region title. On top of reeling in the hardware, the Rams mastered the greens at the Bartram Trail Golf Course in Evans, Georgia in September, shattering the 18-hole CIU team score record-low, posting a 278. The score is nine strokes less than the Rams' previous low score of 287.

The Rams’ took home the title of individual champion, shooting a career-best 68 in round two for a 36-hole mark of 140.

said it’s a special day when you break a school record, but doing it to clinch a national championship birth makes it all the more special.

“Playing with a lead in golf is not easy, and our team proved that they were more than capable,” Montgomery said.“We'll celebrate this win, and then we'll set our eyes on winning a bigger trophy in a few weeks."

That’s a reference to the NCCAA Men's Golf National Championship on Oct. 22 - Oct. 24 in Palm Coast, Florida.
