High School Business & Leadership Academy returns this summer
Business-minded high school students are invited to join with other budding entrepreneurs at Ƶ’s Business & Leadership Academy this summer on the campus of CIU. In its second year, the Academy is led by the faculty of the CIU Cook School of Business.
The Business & Leadership Academy is open to all high school students in grades 9-12 who desire to start a new business, invest for the future, learn how to lead, and add value to businesses around the globe.
It’s also an opportunity to make friends with fellow students with shared interests, get a preview of college life and learn more about business, entrepreneurship, sport management, and leadership — all while having fun.
“God was the first entrepreneur, creating the world from nothing, and businesses — successful entrepreneurs are creating from nothing,” says Associate Professor of Business AdministrationDr. Steve Hays. “We want to teach the academy students about business and leadership principles that they can carry with them throughout their life, especially from a biblical worldview.”
The details of the summer academy were developed by 2021 School of Business alumna Elizabeth Kenny while she was a student.
“I came up the with detailed work and what we should focus on (including) the title and the classes,” Kenny said at the inaugural academy in 2021. “To see this all come together has been amazing.”
The 2022 Academy will be held July 11-15 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The cost is $325. The registration deadline is June 27.
Ƶ is located at 7435 Monticello Road in Columbia.
