The Last Sweet Mile: A story of brotherly love
August 16, 2022
ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ alumnus Gary Levi and his brother Allen had a brotherly bond — that is, both familial and spiritual. And that bond is still being noticed, years after Gary’s death.
It’s detailed in a book a written by Allen titled discussing how the brothers relationship became even closer after Gary was diagnosed with brain cancer. It also highlights how Gary gave his life to the mission field after earning a certificate in Biblical Studies in 1986 from ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ, then called Columbia Bible College and Seminary.
Gary left home in Georgia to become an ambassador for his Lord in places such as Afghanistan, Bosnia, Macedonia, and the jungles of Peru.
The brothers’ story recently caught the attention of News 3, WBLR TV in Columbus, Georgia. Allen told the station:Ìý
“Gary loved Christ and he loved people with heart, soul, mind, and strength in a way that was winsome, that was attractive, and from my standpoint was very enviable. Even though he was younger than me, he continues to be the person I most want to grow up to be like.â€
