CIU professor earns nomination for Best Book

’s book “,” is a finalist for best books in Old Testament Studies awarded by the . The book provides an accessible, comprehensive, up-to-date, and linguistically-informed investigation of Hebrew and Aramaic.

Noonan, an associate professor of Old Testament and Hebrew, thanks his CIU students for encouraging him to continue to grow in his understanding of biblical Hebrew and biblical Aramaic.

“Their questions and insights challenge me to think more deeply about the biblical languages and to become the best teacher and scholar I can be,” writes Noonan in the preface of the book. “My students serve daily as a reminder of why I do what I do, and for this I am very thankful.”

The Center for Biblical Studies, located at Midwestern Seminary in Kansas City, will announce winners of individual categories on Feb. 19 and the Book of the Year on Feb. 22.
